About the Course
Qigong (氣功) is an ancient Chinese art that unites breathing, energy, and mindful movement. Adapted for dancers, it enhances vitality, focus, and body awareness — becoming both a wellness practice and a powerful training method.
In this class, dancers explore:
Medicinal Qigong → therapeutic movements that restore internal balance, relieve stress, and support muscle recovery.
5 Animals Qigong (Wu Qin Xi) → a playful, dynamic practice inspired by the movements of the tiger, deer, bear, monkey, and bird — cultivating agility, strength, coordination, and expressive power.
5 Elements Qigong (Wu Xing) → harmonizing the body with the cycles of nature (wood, fire, earth, metal, water), awakening creativity, grounding, and emotional balance.
These practices develop stability, flexibility, and energetic flow, while teaching dancers how to manage fatigue, prevent injuries, and cultivate stage presence with authenticity.
